The University of Gloucestershire’s Cyber Security and Digital Centre is a new state-of-the-art space dedicated to innovation, collaboration and development on a national and local scale. The evening was a great taster for the Gloucestershire Business Shows Information Security Zone.

One of the strongest zones at both of this year’s Gloucestershire Business Shows in May and October is the Information Security Zone and the leading names in cyber-security gathered to discuss the importance of data security issues for all businesses, regardless of size at the preview event.

Jeannie Cohen-Brand leads the new venture as Head of Enterprise and New Venture; “C11 is the single most important development of the University. You only have to look at the speed at which the commercial landscape is evolving, from Agri-tech to AI the digital and cyber demands are snowballing. C11 is about bringing people together across country, community and commerce and I’m hoping that C11 will provide a focal point for the cyber community.”

C11 includes a secure, accredited space as well as open areas for networking, startups and innovation. It also boasts an Entrepreneur in Residence, David Sykes to facilitate mentoring, coaching and introductions to accountants and planners etc; “By adding incubation to a start-up, you transform the chances of success” he comments.

XQ is a sponsor of GBS18 and Director Rachel Hudson was one of the evening’s speakers along with Tasha Godwin from Logically Secure and Professor Kamal Bechkoum, Head of The Business and Computing School at the University of Gloucestershire.

There will be across the board discussion on every aspect of cyber-security and risk analysis at The Centaur May 16/17th  kicking off at 9.30 in the Live Talk Forum with Fake News and How to Deal with it, run by the West of England Cyber Cluster led by leading cyber-security specialists Lisa Forte of Red Goat and Chris Crowther of Straburg Consulting.
