We’re pleased to working with XQ Cyber as sponsor and exhibitor for The Information Security Zone at #GBS18.

Based just outside Tewkesbury, XQ Cyber believe that cyber security should be less complex and better value. They have a mission to make their customers’ digital lives better by helping them to mitigate technology risk, innovate faster and thrive in the information age.

Their background is in white hat hacking, specialising in transforming this expertise and tradecraft into value. They do three things: support customers in the real world with advice and guidance; conduct laboratory and field research, often in collaboration with partners; and armed with new insight, they develop innovative solutions and services to solve difficult, thorny issues.

At #GBS18, XQ Cyber will be coordinating “Live & Hands on” – one of our five interactive and accessible spaces in the Information Security Zone which will have a welcoming and easy to engage approach. They will present hands on opportunities and demonstrations of how hacking works – what actually happens when you “hit that link that you shouldn’t have done”, how a system can be hacked and its effects. Visitors will be empowered with information about how they can protect themselves, for example, test their password strength along with a host of other simple interactive activities. Their talks and demonstrations will help visitors understand what vulnerabilities exist in a business, what could happen if they are exploited and the very simple steps a business can take to protect themselves.

The other four spaces that will feature in The Information Security Zone are:
  • Business Resilience, and Risk Management  – coordinated by Techop
  • Social Engineering – coordinated by Borwell
  • Protection for small businesses – coordinated by Je2
  • Information Security Clinic – coordinated by BPE
