For the second year, #GBS18 is hosting The Food and Farming Zone. Placed at the heart of the show on the ground floor and with a theatre kitchen sponsored by Fosters Event Catering, 2018 sees a great development on the zone.

We have a number of tasting and cooking demos over the two days featuring Gloucestershire produce from growers, producers, chefs and distributors who are working to develop a strong offering from the county’s agricultural sector to local people and beyond.

There are a number of focusses over the two day programme. Working with NFU we have a panel discussion around issues facing rural businesses on Wednesday that sits beside “think Local – Buy Local”. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste local produce, see demonstrations in the theatre kitchen as well as discussing case studies in international trade.

Food provenance is another big focus over the two days. Happerly have a “food heaven light” market planned that allows producers with a strong and clear provenance to show off their great products. They will discuss how using certification, technology, apps and clear marketing can dramatically improve value for money, health and the well being of consumers and livestock. As we build a respected county brand in our food production, the opportunities for International trade grow beside that and proving and protecting food provenance becomes an essential part of that respected county brand.

The Food and Farming Zone will also feature cookery demonstrations from Fosters Event Catering, Pamela Chen Moore and many more.
